Day 1: Nairobi – Arusha
Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi at approximately 7:30 AM. You will travel to Arusha via the Namanga border, where immigration formalities will be completed. Upon arrival in Arusha in the afternoon, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and a safari briefing. The rest of the day will be at leisure before dinner and overnight stay in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic drive of approximately four hours. Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara National Park lies beneath the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment, providing a spectacular backdrop for wildlife viewing. The lush groundwater forests are home to playful monkeys and a variety of birdlife, while elephants are often seen resting in the shade. Other animals commonly spotted include zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and numerous bird species. After the game drive, proceed to your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, travel to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, a world-famous archaeological site where early human fossils were discovered. The area features fascinating landscapes formed by geological movements that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. Continue to Serengeti National Park, arriving in time for a game drive before checking into your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. With a packed picnic lunch, venture deep into the park in search of its abundant wildlife. The Serengeti is known for its immense populations of plains game including wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and antelope, as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. In the evening, return to your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, depart the Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for game viewing. Ngorongoro Crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations and offers excellent opportunities to see the endangered black rhino. Visitors may also encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, flamingos, and numerous other species. In the afternoon, proceed to your lodge or campsite near the crater for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Ngorongoro – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, travel to Tarangire National Park, the third largest national park in Tanzania and famous for its large elephant population. The park is characterized by massive baobab trees and the Tarangire River, which attracts a wide variety of animals, especially during the dry season. Wildlife frequently seen includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, and large herds of elephants. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive before checking into your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Tarangire – Arusha
After breakfast, depart for a final morning game drive before leaving Tarangire National Park. You will then travel back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, arriving in the afternoon for your onward flight. Alternatively, you may be transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
