The Giraffe Centre is a short excursion from Nairobi that offers visitors a chance to see and interact with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. It was originally established as a conservation initiative to help save the species, which once had only about 120 individuals remaining in the wild in Kenya.
The centre is operated by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya, a conservation organization that promotes wildlife education through school programs, educational materials, and conservation campaigns.
Visitors can feed the giraffes using specially provided pellets and interact with them from raised platforms. One of the highlights is the opportunity to take close photographs while feeding the giraffes, creating a memorable wildlife experience. Nearby is the famous Giraffe Manor, a boutique hotel created from the founders’ original residence.
9:00 am– Pick up from your hotel after breakfast and drive to the Karen suburb where the Giraffe Centre is located. Upon arrival, enjoy feeding the giraffes and taking photos while learning about giraffe conservation efforts.
12:00 pm – End of the tour and drop off at your hotel in Nairobi.
